Janet McCurdy recently opened up about her friendship with BFF Miranda Cosgrove during the press tour for her eye-opening I’m Glad My Mom Died memoir, saying that her former co-star’s “in my heart” a special place”. HITC takes a look at some of his cutest moments over the past 10 years.
McCurdy took on the role of Sam Puckett on iCarly at the age of 14 and, now 30, the former actress explicitly stated in her memoir, titled I’m Glad My Mom Died.
The podcaster bravely reveals her experiences as a lead child actor while being abused at the hands of her mother Debra since childhood. His mother died of breast cancer in 2013.
During their five-year iCarly career, co-star Cosgrove served as their support system as they grew up in the limelight together. McCurdy and Cosgrove had impeccable chemistry to thank for propelling it to fame on the Nickelodeon show.
iCarly returned in 2020 with a reboot that lacked McCurdy, but clarified that it had nothing to do with Cosgrove, who remains his close friend.
“I love Miranda to pieces”
Speaking to ET, the Sam & Cat actress admitted that the 29-year-old “has a special place in my heart” when asked about the impact of Cosgrove’s friendship.
“I love Miranda to pieces, I always will,” she said. “He helped me grow as a person and recover as a person and I hope I did the same for him; I just love him so much.”
With the Drake and Josh actress taking over the iCarly reboot and McCurdy focusing on writing and directing, the former child star has been too busy to meet.
“We’re absolutely still in touch, not as often as we used to,” the author revealed. “We were connected at the hip, so it was that kind of relationship until our mid-20s.”
McCurdy added: “I’ve always rooted for him.”

Once an active social media user, the former actress wiped Instagram of her old posts from around 2017-2018, but thankfully, Cosgrove has kept her adorable BFF photos online.

Cosgrove never forgot to wish his best friend a very happy birthday. The actress dug up an old gem of the pair as Carly and Sam by going to the archives.
“He is the friend that everyone should have. He is the friend that everyone deserves,” the singer captioned it.
